We interviewed two medical missionaries on June 17th,
the day we got back to Panama ​from Tapachula, Mexico.
They journeyed to Darien jungle to help migrants by providing medical assistance for four days.

Please watch Belinda Tifton's interview. Belinda is a missionary from Mississippi.
Belinda shared with us what she heard from a migrant who was beaten and raped by "the man on a horse" in Darien.

She provided photos and videos of the woman.
I cannot share the photos due to graphic content.
If I could publish these photos, many people surely would reconsider opening the border. Because those migrants think it's worth risking their lives for "better life" in the United States.

But is it really so?

About 10% die crossing Darien Gap.
Many more are raped and beaten.
Nobody knows the true number. This is our informed guess.

　その移民女性の写真を見れば、国境を解放する政策を考え直した方がよいと考える人がほとんどだと思います。何故なら、アメリカでの”より良き人生”が得られるなら、この様なリスクを冒しても良いと移民達は考えるからです。

本当にそれほどのリスクを冒す価値があるものでしょうか。
ダリエンギャップで約１０％の移民が命を落としているのが現実です。
その数値以上の人がレイプされ山賊によって痛めつけられます。
実際の数字を把握するのは難しいですが、我々の様々な調査に基づく試算はそれくらいです。
